Level AA
Except for captions and images of text, text can be resized without assistive technology up to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality.>
Explanation
It must be possible for people to increase the size of text by up to 200% using their browser. This ensures that people who cannot see well can comfortably read the content.
Responsibilities
- Content
- Design
- Development
- QA
Requirements
- Content is readable and does not overlap, when zoomed up to 200% in the browser.
Note: It’s possible to meet this SC by allowing text to be resized, or by supporting browser zoom. Not all browsers have a text resize option these days, and it is hard to support resizing text up to 200% for modern websites, so zoom support is the recommended solution.
Common mistakes
- Content overlaps and is unreadable when zoomed up to 200% in the browser.
